DARK YONDER
ISSUE 13

Yesterday Isn't Done With You Yet
Welcome to Issue 13 of Dark Yonder, a neo-noir journal for those who understand that we all carry the darkness within us.
Step into the shadows of being human with Dark Yonder 13, a collection of original contemporary noir short stories. This volume brings together ten gripping tales about people navigating the breaking points of human endurance. In this issue:
-
Wes Browne spins a brutal, deeply romantic tale of an aging couple making their final stand against old enemies in rural Kentucky.
-
Jay Butkowski crafts a tragic, razor-sharp chronicle of sibling rivalry, viral marketing, and fatal misunderstanding on a Pennsylvania highway.
-
Curtis Ippolito delivers a high-octane Robin Hood tale as two foster brothers take on ICE in the back alleys of San Diego.
-
Anna Elin Kristiansen explores the line between idol worship and mortality through the eyes of an aging rock star’s caregiver.
-
Catherine Mainland exposes the unspoken horrors lurking just beneath casual conversation among regulars in a Scottish pub.
-
Mike McHone offers a chilling look into the commodification of beauty in the adult entertainment industry.
-
Christopher Moore examines the agonizing aftermath of childhood trauma as a grieving sister searches for peace.
-
Armand Rosamillia traps a federal agent and a crucial teenage witness in a fortified cabin where loyalty is bought and paid for.
-
Rosalind Trotter tells a tender, haunting story of homelessness, memory, and the quiet dignity found in unexpected solidarity.
As always, our collection of eye-opening stories includes a cocktail recipe plus commentary by editors Katy Munger and Eryk Pruitt.
